S Balakrishnan, former journalist received threats from Underworld Don Chota Shakeel for placing a bid to buy Bhendi Bazaar Property of Dawood Ibrahim
According to recent reports, S Balakrishnan, former journalist received threats from Underworld Don Chota Shakeel for placing a bid to buy “Bhendi Bazaar Property” of Dawood Ibrahim. Currently, S Balakrishnan is associated with NGO Desh Sabha Samiti and is ready to bid for the property of Dawood Ibrahim, which is located at Bhendi Bazaar Market. On last, Saturday he claimed that he received threats from underworld Don Chota Shakeel in the evening night of December 3 and 4, 2015.
According to Balakrishnan, “He had gone to inspect the Hotel Afroz, which is located at Bhendi Bazaar and owned by Dawood Ibrahim and it is one among the seven properties of Dawood, but before bidding the Central Officers who was on duty refused to show him the property from inside, even as he insisted for it. But soon after that somehow media come to know about it and they took my byte to put it on air and because of that Don Chota Shakeel must have come to know about all these things from the news channels or media and later he send me a SMS”. However; while revealing the content of the message, Balakrishnan stated that “”Chota Shakeel asked me (what has happened to you…are you all right. why this auction and all….) ‘Tumko kya ho gaya hai….tum khair to ho…ye kya boli kya tum karnewale hain?”
Now the main question is that Is he carrying out orders from Dawood Ibrahim? However; Balakrishnan decided to not to report the matter into police because everything is clear from the content, he said and now on the behalf of the NGO we are surely going to take the part in the bidding procedure. The more he added that we are allowed to take part on December 9 and currently we are completing the formalities. Meanwhile we are hoping that our bid will be accepted by the Indian Government. Apart from that there is also a simultaneous provision of e-tendering, so it is expected that everything will be clubbed together and by the end of December 9 we will get the clear picture. The former scribes also express the surprises from Dawood’s attachment with all these seven properties. He said, “I donot understand that how Dawood has got thousands of crores of properties which are spread in all over the world, why he will run after this much small property which is just worth on 1 crore to 1.2 crore. May be it could be the issue of prestige for them because the hotel is located in his bastion and thus may be he feels that if somebody takes it away then it will be a great setback for him.
Balakrishnan, clear mentioned that we do not aim to start another hotel to make money, the idea behind this bid is to start a welfare centre for the poor children in the Bhendi Bazaar Market and these are the streets from where Dawood started his life. However; authorities have seized the properties of accused under the Narcotics and Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Properties) Act 1976 from very long time.
