New Super Expressway between Nagpur and Mumbai

Nagpur and Mumbai in only 10 hours, that’s what Maharashtra government is promising to offer through the construction of new super expressway.

On Thrusday, Chandrakant Patil, Maharashtra Minister of Textile and Public Works announced that state government is going to build brand new six lane super expressway between Nagpur and Mumbai with an aim to reduce the travelling time from current 16 to 18 hours to 10 hours. The more he informed that state has entered in to a pact with the central government with an aim to construct this new super expressway and their endeavor is to create project in next two to three years. However; Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra had also earlier spoken about construction of a Nagpur to Mumbai 8 lane super express way project, but due to acquisition issues currently project is facing some obstacles.

Still state government has to decide that it will be six or eight lane super expressway because in initial talk state government is proposing six lane road super express way and if it will solve the land acquisition issues, so state government will add two more lanes in it.

Chandrakant Patil stated that land for the 6 lane expressway has already been acquired by the state. The more he added that 3839 Km of the state’s roads will get converted into the highways and on this point Nitin Gadkari, Minister for surface Transport and Ports also agreed.
