According to sources, now his old home which is still in Peshawar will be demolished by the owners with an aim to start the construction of a plaza. However; earlier Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities were saved the building from total destruction after doing the timely effort and implementing the right strategy.
In the year 1920, Prithviraj Kapoor was constructed this house, where Rajand his siblings were born, but in the year 1947, after the partition whole Kapoors family shifted to India.
On Saturday, the Archives department obtained a stay from the local court to save the demolition of the historic Haveli, which is located at the Dhaki Munawar Shah city. But by that time the new owner had pulled down the first floor for the construction of a commercial plaza. Apart from that the doors, windows panes, which were on the second and third floor have also been removed and they were on the move.
Earlier, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was declared the houses of Bollywood actors; Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor as the heritage sites¸ but due to lack of proper strategy and absence of maintenance program now situation is different. Officials of Archives stated that they sought police help to halt the house razing. They took into custody the labors that were later freed. Rishi Kapoor, the son of Raj Kapoor tweeted and thank the people of Pakistan for resisting the demolition and he added that now property belongs from the government, so we don’t have any right to say about it.
