Now, Noida real estate attracts Sachin Tendulkar

The twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida have been attracting several celebs for a few years now and the latest to join the band wagon is the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar! The Master Blaster bought a flat at a housing society in Greater Noida and his wife Anjali came down to the city for the paperwork.

The legendary cricketer Kapil Dev also bought a flat in the same society, which adjoins an 18-hole golf course. Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni has spent a substantial amount for purchasing three plots and a flat on the Noida Expressway in 2010.
While Tendulkar is the seventh international cricketer to buy property in Noida, there are other actors and singers also who have investments in the city. Sadly though, none of these houses has turned into homes.

For cricketers though, a property in Noida is for either investment or business.
Given Kapil Dev’s fondness for golf, who is a national-level senior golfer now, the residents of Noida hoped that he would make the city his second home. However, the former World Cup-winning captain has chosen not to move to the city. As for Mr. Dhoni, his visits to Noida in the last six years have mainly been for ad shoots or promotional events.

Others like Ajay Jadeja and Saba Karim have chosen to buy land here and utilize it for their businesses. Both run cricket academies on their properties in Noida. Saba Karim’s academy in Sector 132 is the oldest in the city.

Hrithik Roshan, the heartthrob of millions is not only one of the best actors in town, but also an exceptionally smart investor. Speaking about his entrance into the real estate market, the handsome actor reveals that he trusts only real estate as a reliable investment instrument. “The first investment I made from my money was in a property,” he says.

“Buying a property is always a very sound decision,” says the star, who knows more than a thing or two about being hot property.

The Roshans have an extensive lineup of residential and commercial spaces in Mumbai as well as other parts of the country and abroad. Hence, for Hrithik, property is the best bet in investment ever.

Following the footsteps of other Bollywood biggies, Emraan Hashmi too is keen to purchase a property in Dubai. As a regular traveller to the
UAE, he would stay in hotels and therefore, Emraan is desirous of owning a property like a holiday home.

“Emi already has bungalows in goa and a few properties in Mumbai but was looking for real estate options in Dubai for a long time now,” reveals a source close to the actor.

Like other actors, Emraan is interested in picking up an apartment on a 99-year lease rather than a sea-facing bungalow. United Arab Emirates has no property tax along with good rental options. Moreover, buying and selling of real estate is much simpler there. Nevertheless, unlike other stars, Emraan has no plans to sell the property anytime soon.

It is learned that Emraan has already shortlisted a few properties and will finalise one in next to no time. The apartment he’s most keen on is located in one of the hotspots of Dubai, the Sheikh Zayed Road. The place has big hotels and good restaurants among other prime facilities. It is also one of the roads that links the old section (Diera) to the new (Jumeira).

After his co-founder friend Sachin Bansal who is presently Executive Chairman of Flipkart bought a small property in Koramangala in Bangaluru a few years ago, binny Bansal has also reportedly purchased a plush bungalow in the same area for a monstrous Rs. 32 crore.

Binny acquired the 10,000-sq-ft property a few weeks ago from long-time residents Iqbal family. Incidentally, it is not far away from where Flipkart began its operations in 2007. To fund the purchase of this humungous property in the upscale locality of Bangaluru, the e-commerce giant’s recently crowned CEO has secured loans from two banks. Apparently, Bansal has paid the highest stamp duty for any residential property transaction with the local sub-registrar.

Trisha and Binny Bansal can now count Infosys co-founders Nandan Nilekani and Kris Gopalakrishnan among their neighbours. Congratulations to the Bansals!

Sonam Kapoor got hooked to a 7000 sqft duplex for 30 crore!

The media is buzzing with reports of Bollywoodeans looking for their own homes sans their parents. After Priyanka chopra, Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, we’ve learned that fashion diva Sonam Kapoor has moved into a plush duplex in Signature Island located in Bandra-Kurla complex.

Interestingly, Ms. Kapoor ditched the Bollywood capital Juhu and chose a business hub for her pad. Sonam’s building is populated with the likes of industrialist Gautam Adani, Deutsche Bank co-chief executive officer of Asia/Pacific, Gunit Chadha, chairman of JM Financial Nimesh Kampani, former Citigroup head Vikram Pandit, Harsh Mariwala of Marico, Kishore Lulla of Eros International and Ashok Wadhwa of Ambit Holdings, Jalaj Dani of Asian Paints, Pramit Jhaveri, CEO of Citi India, and Mickey Doshi, MD and country head at Credit Suisse.

The actress was initially hunting for a bungalow, but when she came across this project, she thought of booking a duplex. The house is a sprawling 7000 sq ft space that runs across the 3rd and 4th floor of the building. And apparently, the duplex has cost Sonam a whopping Rs. 30 crore!

The house overlooks some of the top hotels in the neighborhood, and the building’s proximity to American Consulate also makes it paparazzi proof. The building also sports a mini-theatre, where Sonam could host movie screenings.

The Khoobsurat girl’s abode has been designed by her maternal aunt Kavita Singh who is an interiors expert. The attraction of Sonam’s house is a lavish bathroom with a Jacuzzi attached and also a walk in wardrobe, which suits perfectly for the fashionista of Bollywood!

“Mom will design my new home,” says Varun Dhawan

After actors like Alia bhatt, Taapsi Pannu, Shraddha Kapoor ventured out into the real estate market to buy their own properties in the maximum city, it is now the turn of the Badlapur boy to move out of his parents’ home.

Varun Dhawan has recently bought a four-and-a-half BHK flat in the same building where he is currently staying with his parents, David and Karuna Dhawan in Juhu area of Mumbai.

“I have been wanting to buy my own apartment since a while now, but not by borrowing money from my father,” he says. Varun’s bachelor pad is on the first floor of this building. “It is always nice to stay closer to your parents,” the 29-year old reveals.

While Varun’s co-star Alia Bhatt is getting her Mumbai home designed by interior designer Richa, for Dhawan kid, mommy knows best! “My mom will design the interiors of my new home,” he chuckles.

Varun is expected to move into his own den by December this year.

Dancer Lauren buys her own home in Mumbai!

Mumbai, the city of dreams, is rightly called Mayanagri. It might be easier to fulfill most of your dreams here but for owning a house. Countless people have reveries of living here but buying a property here sure burns a huge hole in your pockets.

Nonetheless, some are lucky to own an apartment here while many others struggle to turn their dream into reality. And, B-town dancer Lauren Gottlieb is just one of them.

The mind-blowing dancer who has made appearances in some reality shows and a few Bollywood movies has finally got the keys to her new home in Mumbai. After three long years of struggle & adversities, the US beauty feels that this is her home away from home. “It is extremely difficult to get a property of your choice in Mumbai especially if you are a foreigner, single, dancer and linked to bollywood. And I’m all of these. I simply wish to thank god and my family for my accomplishment,” the emotional Lauren wrote on Instagram.

Rati Agnihotri’s son gives a tour of his stunning sea-facing apartment

Tanuj Virwani, son of yester year actress Rati Agnihotri has been living in this six bedroom sea-facing penthouse in Worli since 2007. This lavish duplex located in South Mumbai has a sea-facing terrace which makes one go green with envy.

“We earlier resided in the western suburb of Juhu in Mumbai. Then we shifted to this place almost 10 years back,” says Tanuj relaxing on a couch in this space which he calls the lounge. This room has a huge wall mounted flat screen TV, a gaming console, resting chair, a sofa set and across it is a sliding window that opens up to a huge bar!

Interestingly, this room gives the uninterrupted, magnificent view of the sea on one side, thanks to the huge glass panels and on the other side one can see the tall towers in the skyline along with the lush green Mahalaxmi race course located next to it.

But Tanuj prefers the sea-facing view of his house. “I meditate on the terrace. The sound of the waves helps you relieve the fatigue and simply cures you after a long tiring day,” he says.

Another feature in the house that attracts your attention is the arts and artifacts which are well placed in the corners or mounted on walls or simply kept in the wooden columns near the wall.

Ranbhir Kapoor beats Jindals in property deal

Bollywood heartthrob Ranbhir Kapoor has made the largest recorded transaction per square feet by paying a whopping Rs. 35 crore for a property in Mumbai. The apartment is located in Bandra, close to Krishna Raj, his parental home, and is possibly the highest recorded transaction in the suburbs with Rs 1.42 lakh per square foot.

The sprawling apartment is on the seventh floor of the 12-storey Vastu Pali Hill, with two parking slots, reports the Times of India.

According to market experts, film celebrities believe in property investment even if the markets are stagnated. The film industry always makes full payments by cheques only.

Earlier, biggies like Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan have all bought luxury apartments in various projects in the city. But Ranbhir Kapoor has topped the Bollywood A-listers and even surpassed the Jindal family which purchased a 10,000 sq ft duplex for Rs. 1.60 per square foot in the impending Lodha Towers on Altamount Road.

Rohit Sharma buys a villa worth 5 cr in Suniel Shetty’s project

Cricketer Rohit Sharma who not so long ago purchased a flat in Prabhadevi area of Mumbai for Rs. 30 crore, recently indulged onto a villa in Khandala. According to sources from the real estate industry, Sharma bought a bungalow in a residential project named ‘Discovery’, which is owned by actor Suniel Shetty’s company S2 Realty.

The bungalow, which is a 5 BHK villa with a lawn and a swimming pool, is presently under construction.  The plot covers a total area of about 10,000 square feet and realtors claim that the deal has been closed for Rs. 5 crore.

The project Discovery in Khandala is spread across seven acres and has more than 21 bungalows. Every villa sports a private terrace. The project attracts a lot of the city’s elite, who wish to stay in a gated community.
